I ran a bunch of errands this morning. I went to the bank, Starbucks, the DMV, and the chiropractor. To get in and out of all those buildings you have to go through doors, obviously. One to go in, and one to go out. That makes 8 in all.
I touched 1 door handle this morning!
I forgot how much I missed the hospitality of gentlemen in the south

In case you hadn’t heard, I am in the Case Western Reserve Music Department’s production of Dido and Aeneas. It is a baroque opera by Purcell based on book 4 of Virgil’s Aeneid.
The opera tells the story of Aeneas, who on his way to found Rome after the fall of Troy, comes to Carthage and falls in love with Dido, the queen. These two decide they will go against destiny and fall in love. Little do they know, the Sorceress is trying to ruin Dido’s life. She manipulates the two to help them fall in love and then reminds Aeneas of his destiny to go found Rome. When he leaves her, she is distraught and kills herself. Such a happy story ;-)!
I am the First Witch/Enchantress, meaning I am the right hand woman for the Sorceress. This is an exciting production because I have several solo lines, 3 duets, and I get to play an evil witch! All in baroque style, of course. There are many beautiful baroque dances interspersed throughout (as is traditional of the time) and the leads are phenomenal! The opera is this Thursday and Friday, April 3rd and 4th in Harkness Chapel @ 8:00pm. If you are in Cleveland, come see it!

I was doing a quick experiment to see which of my friends came up in Google searches as themselves and it reminded me of the time I did the same for myself with interesting results.
Apparently a website that was designed to go out and find definitions for words came across my dad’s D&D glossary page for his campaign and found the word “Tol” with the description “Character run by Alana Sealy”. So it assumed it was a definition. So, I don’t know what language the webpage is in, but apparently my name has become part of the definition of tol
Check it out!

I don’t know about you, but I had an amazing dinner tonight.
I started with a salad with fresh romaine lettuce and julienned carrots with an Asian Sesame dressing. I followed that with grilled ginger marinated chicken strips, a side of a rosemary Parmesan red skinned potatoes, and a piece of a French baguette I made yesterday from scratch. Jocelyn ate with me, enjoying her own homemade Chicken Parmesan. A little later, we could wrap up the meal with either one of Adrie’s delicious banana dark-chocolate chip muffins or a slice of the marble cake with chocolate frosting Jocelyn made yesterday.
What do you think? A typical college meal? I’ll let you decide

Whoever said that panda bears were stupid…well, you might still be right, but they are adorable and fun to watch.
Check out this video of a panda climbing through a hole in a door to escape his display room. I’m not sure he knew what was on the other side, but it’s still very impressive to watch. Watch the female panda’s expression as she is used as a step-stool and as she tries to figure out where he went. Enjoy!
